Don't Ask! Gaining insights without questions. ASC One Day Conference

Technology has made rapid advances this century allowing us to capture more data than ever before.

This conference will be looking at how organisations are collecting non-survey data such as:

  • Biometrics
  • Emotions through facial scanning
  • Passive tracking of mobile activity
  • Activity monitoring through phones and wearables
  • The internet of things
Clearly these types of data can potentially substitute more accurately for self-reported survey responses. However this could be intrusive and raises ethical issues which we will address at the conference.

The conference will also look at how this data can be analysed on its own and with data from surveys and other sources.

To help explore these issues, the ASC would like to hear from potential speakers and would welcome proposals for presentations or case studies.

Synopses should be between 250 and 500 words in length, and sent by e-mail to Christine Jenkins, ASC Administrator to arrive no later than Friday 9th March 2018.

Please visit the ASC website to view the Guidance for Presenters Page and download our synopsis form.
