Jay RuparelJay Ruparel, the co-founder of MR services and business process outsourcing (BPO) firm Azure Knowledge Corporation, has been elected as President of trade body the Gujarat Electronics & Software Industries Association (GESIA).

GESIA, which was established in 1995, works in partnership with the local government to promote the software, BP/KPO, telecoms, ISP, and electronics sectors in the state of Gurjarat, and provide a platform for discussions and networking among its more than 370 members, professionals and government officials.

Ruparel (pictured) joins as President, after being associated with GESIA for the past six years, having served as Chairperson of the ICT Committee of the Confederation of Indian Industry in 2010 and 2011, and as Co-Chairperson of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India between 2012 and 2013.

He is the co-founder of Azure Knowledge, which specializes in providing primary research and desk research services across more than 75 countries in over fifteen languages from its operations based out of India, China and the US. This includes focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, mystery shops, and ethnography studies, as well as global data collection services over the phone, web, and through in-person interviews. Before setting up the company in 2001 he was a Project Manager at Infosys Technologies, where he led a team of software developers, senior analysts, and technical leads on networking and telecoms projects for companies in the US and Canada.
