The BHBIA (British Healthcare Business Intelligence Association), which promotes the integrity of business intelligence in the UK healthcare industry, has given Sermo exec Rebecca D'Ippolito a seat on its Ethics and Compliance Committee (ECC).
BHBIA works with the UK healthcare business intelligence community by encouraging best practices and legal and ethical compliance among its members. Its ECC aims to ensure the highest levels of compliance are adhered to in all business intelligence practices; with committee members drawn from the market research, fieldwork, and analytics sectors.
D'Ippolito (pictured) joins the committee after four months at healthcare polling company and online physician community Sermo, where she serves as Global Compliance Manager; ensuring compliance is maintained by the 800,000+ physicians using Sermo's platform; by companies using this physician network; and by Sermo itself. Prior to this, she spent more than five years at Kantar, Health Profiles division, serving as Senior Research Manager in Quantitative Operations and Global Healthcare Privacy Champion.
In her work on BHBIA's Ethics & Compliance Committee, D'Ippolito will help members interpret and debate emerging regulations that affect the healthcare industry, collaborate with compliance professionals in the UK, and apply her learnings to Sermo's best practices. She has expertise in the regulatory environment for data analytics and digital healthcare, and will offer both global and country-specific perspectives on themes such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the EU's draft ePrivacy Regulation, and how Brexit is changing the data protection landscape in the UK.
