AGB Group Extends its Global Network | October 18 2001 |
A joint venture was formed earlier this year between AGB Panamericana (51%) and Compaņia Dominicana de Investigaciones (CDI) in order to move the Dominican Republic television audience measurement market from "diary" to people meter based information.
CDI has been the sole supplier of TAM information during the last nine years, and both local and international media operators were anxious to upgrade the quality and scope of the TAM data.
The Dominican Republic has a population of 8.5 million people, and the TAM market is estimated at $80 million. The country is believed to be the fastest growing economy in Latin America.
AGB will install a 310 household panel in two cities - Santo Domingo and Santiago -, which represents 75% of the marketīs purchasing power. Official information is available as from October 1st, 2001, and over 100 media operators have been already trained in the use of AGBīs application software workstation.
