New and Improved ACNielsen N American Tracking | November 8 2001 |
ACNielsen U.S. and ACNielsen Canada have decided to combine their separate retail tracking services. SCANTRACK North America will now represent the combined system of ACNielsen's SCANTRACK in the United States and MarketTrack in Canada.
Designed as an executive level monitoring tool measuring Canadian and US sales of consumer packaged goods products, SCANTRACK North America should enable users to identify sales issues and opportunities at the local level. The newly merged tracking system should deliver greatly improved knowledge of consumer packaged goods (CPG) sales and behaviour across the continent.
At the same time, Homescan North America will combine the US and Canadian versions of Homescan, the CPG industry's gold standard consumer panel. Homescan North America will contain over 67,000 households across the USA and Canada, becoming the single largest continuous consumer panel covering the area.
Steve Schmidt, president, ACNielsen the Americas, has said that many of the company's clients have expressed an interest in obtaining executive views of North American data to help them perform comparative market assessments. "Our enhanced sales information and consumer insight offerings are unparalleled in North America. The increased ease of making cross country analyses of retail sales and consumer dynamics between Canada and the USA provided by these services will be a great benefit to our clients who serve the North American marketplace. We are proud to make these new insights available."
