Results of MRBA Online Auction | April 5 2002 |
The Market Research Benevolent Organisation (MRBA) has just released the final amount raised at its online charity auction held during the Research 2002 conference, a grand total of just over £5,000.
NOP Research managed this year's auction on behalf of the MRBA. It represented the first time it had been run online, replacing the traditional after-gala dinner bidding that has been so much a feature of previous years.
The online bidding actually opened on the 1st March and was available around-the-clock at the nopworld website. Not surprisingly, bidding was also quite brisk at the NOP's conference stand, with delegates being able to watch the action live.
Overall, the auction succeeded in attracting 265 bids for lots as diverse as calculators, cameras and trips abroad. NOP Research Group stand organiser Jean Black said, 'We were very pleased to see so many bids and we are delighted with the interest aroused. We are sure that the auction has a secure future in its new online guise.'
