Ted Vonk has been appointed as the new Director General of ESOMAR, joining early next year and formally taking over from acting Director General Mario van Hamersveld after an introductory period on April 1, 2003. Van Hamersveld will stay involved in ongoing industry project initiatives and will continue to provide advisory services to ESOMAR. Ted Vonk (50), who is Dutch, is an all round research professional. He has more than 25 years experience in opinion and market research, both in the Netherlands as well as international. He has held several management positions at NIPO, the largest Dutch MR agency, currently being Director of Business Development. Over the years Ted Vonk has played an active role in the market research industry as Chairman of the yearly market research congress and as Board Member and Chairman of the Dutch Association of Research Agencies.
