AMI Boosts Qualitative Team with New Appointments | October 24 2002 |
Asia Market Intelligence (AMI), which rebrands as Synovate at the beginning of next year, has this week announced two senior appointments within the company's qualitative research team.
Brendan Shair will take on the regional role of Director, Qualitative - Greater China. He moves from managing a specifically Hong Kong-focused qualitative research team to a division that oversees Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.
Barry Tse has joined AMI China as Head of the Qualitative team based in Shanghai. Before joining AMI, Barry worked as Associate Director with ACNielsen in Beijing and has also worked with Nokia. Mr Tse has nine years of research experience both on the client and supplier side and brings this invaluable expertise to AMI.
According to Tim Balbirnie, CEO of AMI, the appointments will sharpen the company's focus on the Greater China region and come as AMI gears up to go global in January 2003. 'We have traditionally done a significant proportion of our Asia Pacific business within the Greater China region and have always considered it important for our future. Now that we will be operating on a global scale, we expect even more demand for research in Greater China. Brendan's new role - and the addition of Barry to lead the team in Shanghai - reflect our intent to develop our business further in these areas.'
In other appointments, Linda Collard has joined AMI as Senior Communications Manager for Asia Pacific. She will be responsible for all regional communications activities including events, media relations, design and brand management and client database management. She replaces Alicia Kan, who was promoted to a Global Communications role last month.
