TV Research Work Extended in Austria for GfK | February 4 2003 |
The Austrian TV and radio corporation ORF has extended its current contract with GfK subsidiary Fessel-GfK by a further three years to the end of 2006. Fessel-GfK measures TV ratings in Austria, and the volume of this contract extension amounts to EUR 11.5 million.
Austrian company Fessel-GfK has been carrying out TV ratings research on behalf of ORF for over 20 years, using Telecontrol, TV metering technology developed by GfK, since the early nineties. These measuring instruments are currently used in 1,500 households comprising 3,620 people in total.
This contact extension reinforces GfK's position as the European market leader in continuous TV research. Apart from Austria, GfK carries out TV ratings research in six other European countries: Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and - a recent addition - the Ukraine. As part of its existing contracts in Germany and the Netherlands, GfK has been measuring the reach of tradionally broadcast but also digitally broadcast programmes for some time now.
