Executives in Demand Again | February 19 2003 |
Aravati Global Search Network, a leading international executive search organization, recently held its biannual partner meeting in New York. Representatives from the Americas and Europe met to discuss future developments in international executive recruitment and to meet with client CEOs to hear what their growth expectations for 2003 are.
While US marketers are still very cautious about the first quarter - especially due to continued uncertainty about a possible war in Iraq - the mood is one of cautious optimism buoyed by an expanding stock market and expectations of increased corporate profitability.
Although partners from across the globe agreed that the global recession that started in 2001 was not yet over, a client survey and a marked increase in the number of search contracts in December seem to indicate that Europe is once again following the US out of the downturn. 'While some economies still seem to be declining, the main European and American economies seem to have bottomed out. Market leaders are now making key hires who can offer true leadership and business development skills for a turn-around climate in order to take advantage of their competitors' weakness.' says Andrew Swift, the London based Managing Director of Aravati.
The past year has shown that, while the importance of technology has increased over all sectors, nothing guarantees operational success more than a good management team. Firms that have invested in their management stand to be the first beneficiaries of an impending recovery.
At Aravati all indicators show a slow but long-term recovery that will be led by the marketing communications and technology sectors.
Aravati is a global network of independent specialist executive search firms, working through two specialist practice groups: Converging Markets Practice ....technology, telecommunications/wireless, media, emerging technologies, e-business and Marketing Communications Practice ...design, advertising, integrated marketing, direct marketing, market research, professional services.
