Online MR software company FIRM (Future Information Research Management) has announced that founder Bjørn Haugland is to leave the company. FIRM was one of the pioneers of integrated online surveys and analysis from its foundation in 1996, and since the first commercial release of 'Confirmit' in 1999 has established the product as an industry leader, used by a range of Fortune 1,000 companies. Haugland will remain a shareholder, and maintain a close relationship with FIRM as a business partner. In his statement he says that he is proud of what it has become: 'As FIRM continues to grow ... I have decided that this is the time for me to leave. I am certain that with the current management team and employees FIRM will continue to prosper'. Director Stein Onsrud comments: 'Bjørn's visions and optimism has been invaluable to all of us, as we have gradually expanded the company from his ideas in 1996 to the international multi-million dollar company it is today'. FIRM has offices in Oslo, London, New York, San Francisco and Stockholm and services a global customer base including Accenture, AC Nielsen, Barclay's, Egg, Freeserve, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Taylor Nelson Sofres and Toyota.
