ESOMAR to Convene in Prague | July 31 2003 |
ESOMAR will be hosting its 56th annual congress on September 14-17 in Prague. This is the first time that the congress will be taking place in a former soviet bloc country. About 1200 delegates will attend, from over 70 countries.
One of the key topics of the Congress will be accountability, subtitled 'The Quest for the Objective Truth'. High level speakers include:- Marcio Moreira, Vice Chairman, McCann Erickson WorldGroup whose paper explains how, in a world where speed to market with powerful, relevant insights makes all the difference, interpretation is the key
- Jacqueline Aloisi de Larderel, immediate past Director of the Division of Technology, Industry and Economics at UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) who will introduce the very relevant and important concept of Accountability for long term profitability explaining why sustainability is an unavoidable challenge for business
- Professor Jonas Ridderstråle, author of the best seller 'Funky Business: Talent makes capital dance' and Professor at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Leadership at the Stockholm School of Economics, who will launch a manifesto for the new world of business where competitive advantage comes from being different and difference comes from the way people think rather than what organizations make.
According to Dr. Ladislav Köppl, ESOMAR Representative in the Czech Republic and Director of Opinion Window Research International, 'The program will include a range of expert discussions, presentation of case studies and sharing of new findings. New methodologies and techniques of conducting research will also be introduced. It is a top event, an absolute must for users and providers of research'.
