Aegis Media to Use TNS Audience Measurement System | August 12 2003 |
Aegis Media plc, the UK's largest media agency group, has signed a deal with TNS to use its InfoSysTV system, allowing them more in-depth analysis of television audience data. The agreement runs until December 2006.
The deal follows a successful 2 month trial of the system and should allow Aegis' 125 users to spend less time generating analysis and more on using the data to further understand the UK television market, with benefits for planning, airtime buying and client service.
Windows-based InfoSysTV was developed in-house at TNS and is already operational in 14 countries by over 4000 individual users in broadcasters, media agencies and many other organisations. The system will be launched in at least a further 4 countries during 2003. In the UK, the system was launched in October 2001 and to date 38 clients have agreed contracts for use of the UK version, several of them on long term arrangements.
According to Steve Hobbs, Director of Aegis company Carat Broadcast, 'InfoSysTV ... is stronger than our current tool, and along with our proprietary systems, it will keep us ahead of the competition with regards to the service we provide to our clients'. Carat is the UK's largest media planning and buying specialist and the world's largest independent media communication specialist, with worldwide billings in excess of US$16.7 billion in 2002.
Nick Burfitt, Commercial Director, TNS TV Bureau, comments: 'We are delighted to add Aegis Media to our portfolio of customers. Aegis ... trialled the tool on the recommendation of some of our existing clients and we are currently spending time training the relevant individuals on the system. We look forward to working with Aegis Media over the next few years in order to further enhance its business and enable it to remain as the leader in its field'.
