September 16 2003

Brahm Research has been commissioned to examine perceptions of the city of Leeds, kicking off a campaign to raise its profile to rival other regional capitals such as Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool. The work is funded by the Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward.

The wide-ranging research and consultation phase will cover both national and international views of Leeds, and is a collaboration between the public and private sectors in the city.

Brahm Research is based in the city and is the independent MR arm of marketing and communications agency Brahm Ltd, which works in advertising, design, public relations, promotional marketing, direct marketing and new media.

James Rogers, Acting Chief Officer of Executive Support at Leeds City Council said that Brahm were appointed because of their strong research experience in this particular field. 'Moreover, they have the resources and expertise in house to advise upon the development of a marketing strategy and a campaign to raise awareness of what Leeds really has to offer'.

According to Robin Horsfield, Director of Brahm Research, 'As a Leeds-based consultancy we are fully aware that by improving internal and external perceptions of the city, inward investment can be attracted and prosperity levels raised'.
