Germans Want UK in the Euro
October 24 2003

It may be unlikely to convert many British Euro-sceptics, but new research by Synovate Germany can confirm that seven out of every ten Germans believe Britain should join the Euro. The feeling is particularly strong among men, and among the young.

76% of men favoured Britain's joining, compared with 68% of women. The percentage rises to 80 among 14-34 year olds and falls to 59% of the over-65s. Doubt is greatest among women, 13% of whom cannot decide.

One thousand Germans aged 14+ were interviewed between 7th and 9th October using TeleNations, Synovate's global omnibus.
