A new company offering streaming video audience measurement is launching in Asia. Headquartered in Singapore, OnDemandIQ will initially cover 'all SEA markets' as well as Taiwan, and will expand to Japan and South Korea months later.
The company is led by AMPD Research founder Anthony Dobson, as CEO, while technical advisor Andreas Velter co-founded and led TechEdge, which was eventually acquired by Kantar. The pair say they aim 'to set new standards in how streaming platforms, advertisers, and content creators measure and understand their audiences'.
Flagship platform AudienceIQ will launch in January and deliver data on platform and title-level performance for the main global, regional and local SVOD players, measuring streaming consumption across smartphones, tablets, computers, set-top boxes and connected TVs (CTVs). Dobson says the launch 'challenges legacy solutions by addressing gaps in multi-device consumption measurement, particularly in rapidly evolving markets like Southeast Asia'. He adds: 'As CTV adoption soars, this level of granularity is no longer a luxury but a necessity for platforms and content creators to stay competitive'.
OnDemandIQ's services also include the Streaming Sentiment Index (SSI), which will benchmark consumer satisfaction across all streaming services. 'Understanding consumer satisfaction is as critical as tracking viewership' says Dobson. 'Our early findings highlight exciting opportunities for emerging players like Warner Bros. Discovery's MAX service and Sony's Crunchyroll and provide benchmarks for industry leaders as they adapt to new competitive landscapes'.
The firm says early findings from both AudienceIQ and SSI will be available to streaming platforms upon request, empowering them to refine strategies and drive growth in the dynamic streaming landscape.
