B2B Acquisition Firm Launches
A new UK-based firm, Critical Information Group (CIG), aims to acquire B2B companies in the media, market research, publishing and events sectors, both in the UK and overseas.
The new company - which is expected to be listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) by the end of the month - has also appointed Peter Bazalgette as Non-Executive Director. He was previously Creative Chief at TV production company Endemol, which produces TV reality show Big Brother, and is Non-Executive Chairman at Sony Pictures Television.
Other directors include David Smith, Executive Chairman; Anthony Foye, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer; and Jonathan Conibear, Non-Executive Director.
The London-based firm is looking to buy public or private businesses which, in the opinion of the directors, have the potential for operational improvement and would benefit from consolidation. 'Acquisition targets will need to have attractive market positions and brand franchises and be capable of generating sustainable cash flow and profit growth,' the team stated in a regulatory announcement.
Target markets also include academic, construction, healthcare, legal, finance, medical and scientific.
