MRA Names Award Winners
In the US, the Marketing Research Association (MRA) has announced its 2009 award winners, recognizing volunteers who have made a difference to the association and profession.
This year's Honorary Lifetime Membership Award was presented to Michael Mermelstein for his outstanding volunteer service. He is a past President of the MRA, and has held other MRA Board positions.
Mermelstein, who has more than 20 years' leadership experience in the MR profession, is currently President of opinion and market research firm G2 & Associates. Before this, he served as VP of Business Development at Mktg Inc; Field Director at EMC, Field Director at Evans McDonough and VP at Field Facts.
The Distinguished Service Award went to two recipients, Colleen Moore Mezler from Moore Research Services and Ed Sugar from OLC Global. Mezler is a past President of MRA and has served on the MRA national board, while Sugar is a past Chair of MRA's Business Services Workgroup as well as a volunteer on many other committees and MRA national board. Both have been members for more than 10 years.
The Award of Excellence was presented to Angela Lorinchak of Metro Research Services. Lorinchak has served on two workgroups - Education and Business Services and she has also worked on the Virtual Business Guide (VBG) which is a free resource to MRA members.
The awards were presented at MRA's Annual Conference, held last week in Chicago.
