Rainbow Hires Nielsen Media Veteran
In the US, Nielsen Media Research veteran Tom Ziangas has joined TV production company Rainbow Media Holdings as Senior Vice President of Research, to oversee programming and sales research.
Ziangas spent the last 19 years at Nielsen, where most recently he was SVP, Nielsen Expanded Media Services, a unit which helps clients assess the value of their brands by tracking TV viewership, ad spending, consumer behaviour, and consumer loyalty/product purchasing.
Ziangas began his career in 1986 working in the Nielsen Homevideo Index (NHI) research department servicing cable network accounts. He later joined the Ad-Sales Research department at the Family Channel in New York, where he worked with agencies and their advertisers and was responsible for all ratings estimates for the network. Prior to returning to Nielsen 1997, Ziangas was the Manager of Sales Development Resources at the Family Channel. He holds a BS in Marketing from St John's University.
In his new role, Ziangas reports to EVP of Operations, Michael DiPasquale, who comments: 'Tom's long tenure with Nielsen Media Research makes him a perfect choice to lead our research activities, as our multi-platform entertainment brands continue to grow apace.'
Rainbow Media Holdings, which is a subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corporation, produces targeted, multi-platform content for global distribution.
