Ipsos MORI Opens Research Methods Centre
In the UK, Ipsos MORI has opened the Research Methods Centre (RMC), billed as a hub of expertise in sampling, survey methodology and advanced data analysis.
The aim of the centre is to establish 'cutting edge' methodologies, while maximizing company-wide quantitative knowledge and expertise. Initially, it will focus on social, loyalty and media research.
Comprising five statistical and methodology specialists, the team will be led by Dr Patten Smith as Head of the RMC, and Director of Sampling and Analytics, Dr Andrew Zelin. The pair have previously published a number of reports and papers in academic journals, including the MRS award winning paper 'Cluster Sampling: A False Economy'.
Their main focus will be on developing methods and techniques to research opinions and behaviours, as well as on advising clients on the most appropriate solutions for their research questions. The team will also be tasked with generating primary research for dissemination in journals and at conferences, and with offering training and support both internally and to clients.
CEO Ben Page comments: 'The RMC will make sure that we continue to produce first rate research that delivers real benefits for our clients. This is a major new initiative for us, and one we feel will be even more important in times of budget constraints, when clients are looking to us to do things quicker, smarter and more cost-effectively.'
Earlier today, Ipsos MORI announced that it is the only agency to have secured a place on every part of the Central Office of Information's (COI) new framework, which includes 108 agencies from across the UK.
