NAVTEQ Taps Mob4Hire's Global Testing Network
In Canada, NAVTEQ - which provides digital map, traffic and location data - has partnered with mobile application market research firm Mob4Hire in order to tap into the latter's global community of 14,000 respondent testers in 105 countries.
The pair say that this relationship will enable NAVTEQ's mobile developer community to test their applications on different handsets, different networks and the multitude of operating systems, platforms and browsers.
This requires location-specific testing, and Mob4Hire CEO Stephen King explains: 'There is no effective way to test on a foreign network unless you are on that network. It is a location specific problem which plays perfectly to the strengths of our crowd-sourced methodology.'
Founded in 2007, Mob4Hire specializes in conducting usability testing and product and market research through Web 2.0 social networking. The firm replicates the customer experience and performs functional testing as well as market research through its respondents of 'real people with real handsets'.
'Not only do applications have to be tested on networks in many countries around the world, but they also require true mobility. Mob4hire's offering addresses these requirements on both counts,' states Marc Naddell, VP, Partner and Developer Program at NAVTEQ.
