EMI Music Names Consumer Insight VP
US-based EMI Music has promoted David Boyle to the position of Vice President, Consumer Insight and Validation in its Global Digital Marketing team; an expanded role working across all three global business units and based in London.
Boyle joined EMI last year as VP, Commercial Development for the Catalog division. He previously worked for Tesco and political consultancy Catalist, where he supported Barack Obama's US Presidential campaign. Prior to this, Boyle consulted for the UK Labour Party, was a Senior Research Analyst for New Philanthropy Capital, and worked for LEK Consulting in London and Boston.
In his new role, he will work with third party digital partners and research companies, as well as with EMI Music's engineering team, global business units and A&R functions to design and apply new research capabilities.
Boyle's promotion is one of a number of senior digital executive appointments within the firm's central marketing organization and in its regional marketing teams.
Cory Ondrejka, who was recently appointed as EVP of Digital Marketing within the central marketing organization, commented: 'We've built a network of central and regional digital experts who are developing new ways to monetize the music our artists create, building new capabilities and getting and sharing insights about what kinds of music products and services today's consumers are looking for.'
