Ipsos-MORI Gives Unpaid Leave Option
In the UK, Ipsos-MORI has sounded out employees about the possibility of taking two weeks of voluntary unpaid leave later in the year.
Chief Executive Ben Page told DRNO this evening that the company is thinking ahead and the leave would be entirely voluntary. Page confirmed that all Ipsos-MORI staff have been sent the email but that some of the firm's units are very busy and if staff are interested in taking the leave, it will only be taken at the discretion of the individual business heads.
Earlier this month, TNS UK made a general request to employees to take a fortnight's unpaid leave during the second half of 2009, as it tried to avoid adding to a small number of job cuts announced simultaneously. By contrast, DRNO understands that the Ipsos-MORI request is entirely voluntary and not linked to cuts.
