Launch and Hire for OpenAmplify

Natural language processing technology firm OpenAmplify has launched a tool which analyses large amounts of data to uncover users' real needs, and assess whether their purchasing decisions can be influenced. The firm has also hired sales VP Glen Kushner to work from its NY office.

TopicIntentions analyses online conversations on social media sites, web content and forum discussions and uses linguistics programming to identify consumer intent. The firm says it can look at the meaning behind words and conversations, automatically identifying the significant topics, brands, people, perspectives, emotions, actions and timescales contained in the text. In addition, it can identify the subject of a conversation taking place on a site and then link it to advertising most relevant to that consumer.

'TopicIntentions was created to gather and analyse this data so marketers can cost-effectively identify users who have expressed a specific intention to do something,' says CEO Mark Redgrave. 'By identifying relevant commercial intentions, we are enabling marketers and publishers to deliver the right ads at the most appropriate moment to influence the user's action.'

Separately, OpenAmplify has appointed Glen Kushner as VP of Sales and Business Development, expanding the firm's New York presence. Kushner was previously the VP of Business Development at Treemo Labs. In his new job, he will lead US sales efforts for the OpenAmplify platform.
