Cognizant Expands Phoenix Presence
IT and BPO (business process outsourcing) firm Cognizant is expanding its Phoenix-based delivery center to include BPO services, and is planning to hire more than 100 members of staff there over the next 12 months.
The firm, which has 50 global delivery centers and more than 64,000 employees, delivers solutions through its development centers in India and on-site client teams. In 2007, it acquired NJ-based Life Sciences analytics firm marketRx Inc, for c.$135m in cash.
Phoenix is one of Cognizant's six delivery centers in the US, and once the recruitment drive is complete, the firm will have about 400 full-time employees in the area.
'With this expansion, we are able to offer clients US-based delivery capability across all our major service offerings,' said President and CEO Francisco D'Souza.
In addition to Phoenix, Cognizant delivers BPO services from local, regional and global centers in the US, Eastern Europe, India and China.
