Hitwise to Report on Brazilian Internet Use
Online audience measurement firm Hitwise has launched a new service to report on the surfing behaviour of 90,000 Brazilian Internet users.
The firm will analyze more than 60,000 web sites, across more than 160 industry categories in the country, to provide clients with data on web site industry and category rankings, as well as clickstream traffic activity, search behavior and keyword research.
Clients will also have access to additional tools to create custom categories, search term portfolios and customized dashboards.
'As online usage grows in Brazil, so too does competition for the Internet consumer,' said Juliano Marcilio, President of Serasa Experian Marketing Services. 'By launching with the largest online sample in Brazil, we are able to provide marketers with specific insights into consumer behavior as well as into competitors' marketing activities.'
During a trial of the service, Google Brazil was measured as the most visited site last week, receiving 11.03% of all Brazilian visits. Google-owned social networking service Orkut received 9.91% of visits followed by Google.com which received 8.56% of visits.
Hitwise was bought by information giant Experian in 2007 and is online at www.hitwise.com .
