Business School Sets Up Consumer Behavior Group
A New York business school has set up a research group to develop algorithms and techniques which will classify, predict and more accurately describe the purchasing behaviour of consumers.
The new 'Research Group on Integrated Marketing' (RIM), established by the University of Buffalo School of Management, is co-ordinated by Professor of Marketing Research Arun Jain, and Assistant Professor of Marketing Ram Bezawada, who are already focusing on using scientific methodologies to solve managerial related issues.
RIM has received initial funding from wine and spirit retailer the Premier Group, as well as the UB 2020 Interdisciplinary Research Development Fund (IRDF).
'The best business school research not only advances the body of knowledge in a field, but also has direct practical use in the business world,' stated Arjang Assad, Dean of the UB School of Management.
Founded in 1846, UB School of Management has been ranked as one of the best business schools in the US by Forbes magazine.
