Speed-Trap Names New MD

In the UK, Speed-Trap - which monitors and evaluates web site usage - has promoted Simon Burton to the post of Managing Director, responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales and business development globally.

Simon BurtonSpeed-Trap develops software that uses Web 2.0 technology to capture and analyze interaction at the user interface - whatever the device. Its 'User Interface Capture' functionality provides a source of customer, behavioral, process and performance data from any Internet, intranet or extranet application.

Earlier in the year, the firm extended the reach of its web visitor measurement technology, to include visitors accessing sites via almost any mobile device.

Burton, who has 25 years' IT sales and corporate management experience, has been VP of Sales at Speed-Trap since it was founded in 1999. Prior to this, he was Sales Director (EMEA) for technology firm Maxoptix Corporation for seven years, where he established its international offices and implemented a pan-European channel strategy.

In addition to heading up the sales function team at Speed-Trap, Burton has a hands-on role developing relationships with OEMs, Value Added Resellers (VARs), and end users.

'Marketers spend a fortune on online promotion and driving traffic to their web sites, yet they lack the understanding of what their customers do when they arrive and what areas of their online presence is not user friendly,' stated Burton. 'Our ability to attach specific behaviour, experiences and outcomes to individual online customer sessions has allowed our customers to rapidly locate problem areas and efficiently address any issues.'
