Sybase Targets Middle Eastern BI Market
Information services company Sybase has partnered with US-based firm Information Builders to target what it sees as a major opportunity providing business intelligence (BI) in the Middle East.
The partnership will enable Sybase Products Middle East to provide 'radically innovative' enterprise analytics and data warehousing software in the region and in Turkey, according to GM Tony Achkar, quoted on www.alibaba.com . The deal will assist Sybase's roll out in the region of its business intelligence platform WebFOCUS, which extracts and analyzes information from databases in real time.
Said Achkar: 'This venture allows us to complete our offering for an Enterprise Data Warehouse solution and further enhance our ability to bringing information together so business users can access and understand it.' Information Builders' VP EMEA Sales Dennis Bartels said the growth potential for the BI sector within the Middle East and Turkey is enormous.
