Smartphone Analytics Firms Merge
In the US, smartphone application analytics specialists Flurry and Pinch Media have merged their operations, which track iPhone and Android use. Terms were not disclosed.
Flurry focuses on e-commerce while Pinch Media specializes in ad optimization. The merged company, which will be known as Flurry, will have a team of 20 based in San Francisco and New York and will track more than one billion end-user sessions per month on applications installed across 50 million unique iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices.
'Leveraging the industry's broadest and deepest set of data for iPhone and Android, the combined company will be strongly positioned to deliver a series of monetization and marketing optimization services in ways few other companies can,' stated Flurry President and CEO, Simon Khalaf.
Pinch Media's co-founder and CEO Greg Yardley says the merger will give the firms the ability to help iPhone application developers in many more ways.
