comScore and Flurry Offer App Measurement
Online measurement firm comScore has partnered with smartphone application analytics specialists Flurry, to offer 'more accurate' information about the ways users interact with their applications and devices.
The partnership will combine data from comScore's mobile panel - acquired through its acquisition of mobile measurement firm M:Metrics - with data from Flurry's partners' applications across iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices.
Having recently merged with competitor Pinch Media, Flurry now claims to reach 80% of all iPhone, iPod Touch and Android handsets worldwide.
Through the partnership, the firm will provide real-time consumption data, such as frequency of application use, the user's geographical location, new versus return usage and Wi-Fi versus carrier network usage, via comScore's audience measurement platform.
Brian Jurutka, comScore VP of Mobile says the addition of Flurry's data to his firm's existing panel will provide 'more robust' reporting and accountability, potentially helping to drive further growth for the mobile platform.
