Fusion of Market Research and Database Marketing

The Census and Geodemographics Group of The Market Research Society is hosting a seminar on 24 October in London on "Market Research Meets Database Marketing". Aimed primarily at market researchers and database users, the event is designed to enable practitioners to get the most out of their research sources for database marketing and customer relationship management.

The seminar features a number of high profile speakers including information users, such as BSkyB and Royal Mail, research agencies such as MORI, NOP World and Taylor Nelson Sofres, and data providers such as Acxiom, Claritas and Experian. The event is chaired by Corrine Moy, Statistics Director for NOP World and a lead member of the MRS Census & Geodemographics Group.

A variety of topics will be addressed during the seminar including the market research industry's response to the latest Data Protection Act 1998 and the newest database products and services driven by market research information. Shaun Roberts from Royal Mail will be presenting results from an experiment to target business customers using research data, and Richard Bandell from Claritas will be challenging the role of traditional market research for targeting TV audiences.
