Growth in Green Consultancy Field
Green technology consultancy The Cleantech Group has secured $3.2m in third round funding, for use in expanding its reach and portfolio of services. Meanwhile a new player has joined the sector with the launch of AltaTerra Advisors Inc.
Cleantech's financing, from investors including Credit Suisse, SAIL Venture Partners, Georgieff Capital, and Consensus Business Group, was announced this week at the first of five annual Cleantech Forums in San Francisco.
The Group focuses on industry research publications and consultancy, and runs a series of events, with the long-term aim of encouraging green innovation and promoting widespread adoption.
New consultancy AltaTerra will offer business advisory services exclusively to cleantech companies, especially those in early stages of their life. MD Louis Julien Fruchier comments: 'The cleantech sector offers tremendous opportunity with substantial growth potential over the long-term horizon. However, cleantech companies face significant challenges getting to market. Research and development can be slow and expensive and the capital and regulatory requirements to produce and market scalable technology is often onerous. Our aim is to help early-stage cleantech ventures raise capital, commercialize their technologies and establish a strong platform for growth as efficiently and effectively as possible.'
The firm's suite of services includes business advisory, interim leadership and performance coaching for rapid growth. Its web home page is at www.altaterraadvisors.com , while Cleantech is at www.cleantech.com .
