Visual Sciences Co-founder Joins GSI Commerce
In the US, interactive marketing solutions firm GSI Commerce has appointed Visual Sciences co-founder Jim MacIntyre to lead its global e-commerce technology products and services.
GSI Commerce provides services for e-commerce, multichannel retailing and interactive marketing companies. MacIntyre succeeds Stephen J. Gold who had served as EVP and CIO since 2005 and as Corporate CTO since 2009. Gold will remain with GSI as an EVP supporting Michael Rubin, GSI's founder and Chief Executive, on various initiatives.
MacIntyre, who joins with a 20-year technology industry background, has served as special technology advisor to Rubin since May 2009.
MacIntyre co-founded and served as CEO of real-time customer and web analytics firm Visual Sciences acquired by WebSideStory in 2006, after which, the merged firm adopted the Visual Sciences name). He left the company in February 2008, after it was acquired by Omniture for $396m. Prior to this, MacIntyre founded, operated and/or directed various software, service, e-commerce, telecoms and financial service companies.
