Recognition for Xerox Strategist and CMO

The Board of document technology company Xerox Corporation has elected Chief Strategy Officer Uta Werner and Marketing and Communications leader Christa Carone as Vice Presidents of the Corporation.

Werner's role includes overseeing the firm's market research and competitive insights. Before becoming Chief Strategy Officer in February this year, she was a VP of Strategy for Xerox's global services organization, focusing on growth opportunities in business process outsourcing. She joined the firm only in 2009, after two decades as an advisor to global corporations and investment managers.

Carone has served as CMO since September 2008, with responsibility for global initiatives including advertising, experiential marketing, public relations and internal communications. She joined Xerox in 1996 as Communications Manager in the manufacturing and supply chain division.

At its shareholder meeting on Thursday, the company also announced that CEO Ursula Burns would add the role of Chairman with immediate effect, replacing Anne Mulcahy, who has retired from the company.
