Toluna Still Booming in First Quarter
Online survey technology and panels firm Toluna has reported revenue of more than £17m during the first three months of 2010 and says both revenues and profits in the quarter were slightly ahead of budget.
Two months ago the company announced a 'Remarkable Year' in 2009 with revenue at £49.5m, up from just £21.7m in 2008 partly due to the acquisition of Greenfield Online. Underlying profit before tax was well ahead of market expectations at £7.6 million.
At today's AGM the Group said the second quarter had started well with data collection services experiencing good sales growth and the Board confident of a strong outcome for the full year. CEO Frederic-Charles Petit told the meeting the group was now 'a major force in global market research services', adding: 'In the first three months of 2010, we delivered a survey every 2.2 seconds. Our technological infrastructure, portfolio of respondent technologies and our improved global reach bring us exciting opportunities for further growth'.
Also in March this year, the company announced the US launch of its custom panel technology Panel Portal, and the addition of community features for its panellists in fifteen more countries, bringing the total to 34.
