Zokem Raises EUR 2m for Mobile Analytics Push
Finnish mobile analytics firm Zokem has raised 2m Euros ($2.4m) in equity funding, which it plans to use for 'aggressive global expansion'.
Founded in 2008, Zokem collects granular analytics data directly from users' smartphones to provide media measurement companies with a comprehensive picture of how consumers use mobile devices.
The system is compatible with Android, the iPhone, OS, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian, and also measures voice services, entertainment apps, music consumption, device feature uses and browser market share.
'We are looking to gain customer base aggressively within the market research and media measurement industry over the next 12 months,' states CEO Ludovic Gaudé. 'Zokem will try to harness the partnerships with media measurement companies as well as research agencies including carriers and device manufacturers.'
The firm is looking to introduce at least two more mobile analytics products in the coming months, and these launches will be led by Harry Santamäki, who earlier managed Nokia's efforts to enter the search, advertising and analytics businesses.
