Spanish Healthcare Researchers Merge

In Spain, Nueva Investigación has acquired fellow healthcare researcher Compass Research, for an unspecified sum.

Established in 2004 with the aim of 'meeting demand for a higher degree of specialisation in the realm of healthcare and health related studies', Compass works in areas including cardiology, renal transplant, tumours, HIV, Hepatitis and ADHD. Respondents including specialists, opinion leaders, health authorities, patients and parents of child patients, among others, are tapped for a wide range of studies including pre- and post- launch, recall testing and patient diary studies.

Compass manager Alberto Herreros told DRNO the ultimate goal of the merger was to further strengthen the firms' position among the main international healthcare partners in Spain. He comments: 'Both companies have had a long proven record in pharmaceutical research, over the past decade... In a time where companies are downsizing, it is always good news to see two good companies get together so that they can provide the best possible service to their clients.'
