Innerscope Hires Cognitive Scientists

In the US, biometrics, neuroscience and eye tracking specialist Innerscope Research has appointed cognitive scientists Dr Randall Rule and Dr Lisa Haverty to support the firm's product development strategy.

Randall Rule and Lisa HavertyBoston, MA-headquartered Innerscope, which was founded in 2006 by Dr Carl Marci and Brian Levine, uses neuroscience and biometrics with its own proprietary software, to measure and analyze audience engagement with any media stimulus.

The firm has developed a lightweight wireless vest that measures responses to what respondents are watching on a screen, including changes in heartbeat, skin conductivity and perspiration, respiration and physical motion.

Rule joins from brain training firm Posit Science, where as a Research Scientist, he worked with the clinical trials group to test and validate the firm's products using neuropsychology, neuroimaging and electrophysiology. Prior to this, he served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco.

Haverty previously ran her own consulting and strategic marketing agency Brain on Brand, where she applied her expertise in human cognition to marketing solutions for consumer product brands. Before this, she was a lecturer at Northeastern University and Emerson College where she delivered courses on the Psychology of Advertising.

Earlier in her career, Haverty was a Cognitive Scientist at ad agency Arnold Worldwide, providing strategic and consumer insights based on understanding of human nature. While there, she developed the CogScore model of brand recall.

'With their deep academic and professional backgrounds in the brain and neuroscience, Lisa and Randall will be driving forces in the development of products that provide clients with unparalleled insights,' stated Marci. 'We're very excited to add scientists with such talent and expertise to Innerscope.'
