Media Monitors Australia Snapped Up by Equity Group
Media Monitors Australia has been acquired by Quadrant Private Equity in a deal reported to be worth up to $AUD 160m.
Founded in 1982, the firm provides Internet monitoring, media intelligence, press monitoring and many other media evaluation and analysis services. It employs more than 800 staff at its offices in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and mainland China.
CEO John Croll says the acquisition will accelerate the company's growth. 'We operate in a very dynamic industry where clients needs and media developments occur at a very fast pace. We are looking forward to the agility that the Quadrant team brings to further enhance services to our corporate and government clients,' he stated.
As part of the deal, Quadrant's Marcus Darville and MD Chris Hadley will join the Media Monitors Board.
In a statement, Hadley said Quadrant is looking forward to working with the Media Monitors' management team to further develop the business through 'innovative products, services and potential strategic acquisitions'.
Separately, Media Monitors has partnered with comScore to launch a new quant analysis service to enable brands to measure their media and PR coverage both online and in traditional media and work out its equivalent value in ad dollars.
