Mobile Analytics Firm Hires Data Privacy Expert
Mobile data analytics firm Umber Systems has appointed online consumer privacy expert Mark Connon as Corporate Development and Chief Privacy Officer, responsible for driving data monetization and overseeing its privacy strategy.
Concord, MA-based Umber has developed an automated solution for gathering insight into mobile data usage across apps, devices and networks. In addition, its patent-pending monitoring and analytics solution allows marketers to understand the behavior of mobile users, and segment audiences for ad targeting and marketing initiatives.
Connon joins from a Chief Privacy Officer role at behavioral targeting ad agency OwnerIQ. He previously held CEO, COO and executive level corporate and business development roles with a number of start-ups and public companies focused on mobile device technologies, online media, advertising and digital publishing. These included Digit Wireless, Zip2Coopr and MyWay.
In his new role, he is also responsible for overseeing the company's compliance initiatives and legal matters.
