Synovate Promotes Huijboom for 2nd Geographies Role

Synovate has named Peter Huijboom as its second CEO of Geographies, following last week's news that former Synovate Healthcare CEO Michael Spedding had rejoined the firm to take up a position with the same title.

Huijboom joined the firm in 2002 when Synovate acquired his research company Food&Market, a business focusing on food and retail research. Previous roles with the firm have included CEO of Global Client Relationships, responsible for Western and Northern Europe.

In his new post, Huijboom oversees the Western Europe, Central & Eastern Europe and Latin America business units, as well as the global Healthcare vertical.

DRNO reported last Thursday that Spedding had rejoined the group, after last year establishing London-based healthcare market services firm PharmaGems with Synovate's former CFO Peter Chopra.

Spedding originally joined Synovate in 2003, following roles as CEO, COO and CFO at a number of major corporations including Virgin and UBM. He will now oversee Synovate's Middle East & North Africa, Sub Saharan Africa, South Asia, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand business units.
