Ipsos MediaCT Lures Barbaccia from Nielsen
In the UK, Nielsen veteran Marco Barbaccia has joined Ipsos MediaCT as International Director of Electronic and Digital Audience Measurement.
Ipsos MediaCT focuses on a number of areas including measurement of behaviour among consumers and audiences; content and usability testing; and support for product and service innovation. In the summer, it partnered with qual media specialist Work Research to launch a joint venture called 'Work with Ipsos', which provide research tailor-made for media, content and technology companies.
Barbaccia joins from AGB Nielsen Media Research, where he worked as Director of Metering and Field Operations. Since joining ACNielsen in 1984, he has held a number of senior positions, including that of European Panel Operations Director at Nielsen//NetRatings; South European Panel Operations Director, responsible for the set-up and management of audience samples in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Israel, Switzerland and Austria; and as Sources Director, managing operations in Italy. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as an Analyst for the Italian division of Total Petroleum.
In his new role, Barbaccia reports to CEO Richard Silman, and leads the Ipsos MediaCT technological and methodological programmes globally, in support of the growth of the electronic and digital audience business.
