ARF Sets Up Quality Super Council

In the US, the ARF (Advertising Research Foundation) has established the Research Quality Super Council (RQSC), to oversee online research quality initiatives, and provide leadership for the recently launched NeuroStandards Collaboration and other quality initiatives.

Dr Bill CookAs well as overseeing the NeuroStandards Collaboration - which ARF set up in September to assess biometric and neurological research methods - the new RQSC will identify and share best practices, and provide a forum for sharing research-on-research solutions.

In addition, members will examine quality issues around the requirement for researchers to deliver 'faster and cheaper' studies, identify best practices, develop standards on research quality, and disseminate information about quality enhancements.

RQSC is led by ARF's EVP - Research and Standards Dr Bill Cook (pictured), with support from comScore co-founder Gian Fulgoni and Procter & Gamble research veteran Donald Gloeckler, acting as co-chairs.

Cook says, 'Research quality has always been fundamental to the ARF's mission, and we're excited to announce the latest proof of ARF's commitment to identifying, creating, evaluating, and sharing quality research standards and practices'.

The first meeting will take place on November 15 at the ARF offices in New York, and is open to ARF members.

At this meeting, Fulgoni and Gloeckler will moderate a debate on research quality, and a discussion on the 'Evaluation of Methods Used to Assess Effectiveness of Internet Advertising' will include panelists Joseph Laszlo and Paul Lavrakas from the Interactive Advertising Bureau, Josh Chasin from comScore, William Havlena of Dynamic Logic, and Yaakov Kimelfeld from MediaVest.
