QSR Updates NVivo for Unstructured Data Focus
Australian-based qual analysis software provider QSR International has upgraded its flagship qual research software NVivo, to enable users to work with all their unstructured data in one application, and collaborate with colleagues on the same project at the same time.
QSR International has offices in Australia, Europe and North America, and claims virtually every major university in the US, UK and Australia as clients. The company was formally established in 1995, but a predecessor operation launched its first software product, NUD*IST, in 1981.
NVivo 9 and NVivo Server 9 have been introduced to help clients harness business information contained in formats such as documents, video, PDFs, and social media chat.
CEO John Owen says that 80% of all potentially usable business data originates in unstructured form, and that NVivo 9 provides individuals and organisations with a way to manage and analyse this 'avalanche' of information. Additionally, he claims that 70% of people working with unstructured data, work in teams.
'Whether you're researching climate change or trying to better understand your customers, NVivo helps you to get the most out of your data, reveal new discoveries and ultimately, make better decisions,' Owen adds.
