MEC Hires Former Ipsos Hungary Leader for CEO Role
WPP-owned media agency MEC has appointed former Ipsos exec Janos Gulyas as CEO for its Hungarian operation.
As well as its core skills in media planning and buying, MEC offers sports and entertainment marketing; a specialized US Hispanic service; digital solutions focused on strategy, content, and customer acquisition; and global insight and analytics services.
Gulyas joins from Ipsos Hungary, where he was CEO. Prior to this, he spent five years with WPP as Group CEO for Y&R Brands Hungary, leading Y&R Wunderman and Cohn and Wolfe among others. Earlier in his career, he gained marcoms experience at Publicis and Aegis.
In his new role, Gulyas reports to CEO MEC Central and Eastern Europe, Ann Lubowska, who comments: 'Janos is at the pinnacle of his field and is exceptionally talented. He will be a fantastic addition to the team in Hungary and across CEE.'
Gulyas replaces Zsolt Simon, who left to join national broadcaster TV2 as their CEO.
