Newzoo Launches Online Games Monitor
In The Netherlands, full service market research agency Newzoo - which focuses on the games industry - has partnered with blog Social Games Observer to launch an online monitor providing insight into the popularity of games and developers on social networks other than Facebook.
Amsterdam-based Newzoo provides consumer market data across all game platforms, demographics and business models, as well as in-depth market reports, and custom research which enables clients to analyse their own communities and benchmark the results against international data.
The firm, which was co-founded by Peter Warman, Thijs Hagoort and Jos Koch (pictured), is also the publisher of the global B2B portal Gamesindustry.com and the Gamesindustry.com Black Book. Its new partner, Social Games Observer, reports industry news about social games, social networks and game monetization markets.
The new tool tracks app name, developer, number of installs and the change compared to the week before. In addition to MySpace and Hi5, coverage includes the local social networks StudiVZ, MeinVZ, SchulerVZ (Germany), Nasza Klasa, Grono.net (Poland) and Tuenti (Spain). More social networks will be added in future.
The product adds game-specific data to the survey results on social gaming already available from the Newzoo International Gamers Survey, which provides in-depth consumer market data.
