YouGovStone Launches MP Omnibus
In the UK, YouGovStone has launched a service to conduct online research with Members of Parliament in Westminster, providing omnibus and bespoke survey options for research buyers.
In 2007, online research specialist YouGov took a 51% stake in a new joint venture, YouGovStone. The firm was founded by networking guru Carole Stone who was previously Producer of BBC Radio 4's discussion programme 'Any Questions?', since when, she has developed a business based on her friends and business contacts, who are said to number around 30,000.
The new service will offer clients a weighted representative sample of MPs in two weeks, complementing its existing ThinkTank panel, made up of business leaders, parliamentarians, journalists, academics, public sector directors and charity leaders who take part in regular research.
YouGovStone says that the service can be used by clients to benchmark their reputation, understand current attitudes to specific topics or issues, or audit communications campaign activity.
'We interviewed a number of MPs to find out what they think of existing surveys they receive from other companies, and the findings show that questionnaires are often failing to represent MPs' views' explains Research Director, Oliver Rowe. 'Our knowledge of working with such senior individuals means not only do we offer a faster and more client friendly product than other providers, but our input into question design will better reflect MPs' views and concerns.'
