iSuppli Acquisition Completed
IHS Inc. has completed its c.$95 million acquisition of technology supply chain expert iSuppli Corporation.
 Announced just three weeks ago, the deal includes UK-based Screen Digest, which was acquired by iSuppli in the summer.
HIS's consultancy focuses on energy, economics, geopolitical risk, sustainability and supply chain management. The company was founded in 1959 and became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange in 2005. Headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, it employs more than 4,400 people in more than 30 countries - including iSuppli's c.240 staff.
IHS Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jerre Stead says the firm will now develop new products and services for a variety of the vertical markets it serves: 'IHS electronic components and industry standards information will now have the added value of cost, teardown and supply and demand analysis along with forecasting and market intelligence. In addition, we are acquiring a talented group of analysts and researchers as well as a strong customer base across Europe and Asia.'
iSuppli President and CEO Derek Lidow comments: 'Our analysis of prices, technology prognostics, competitor analysis, market drivers and trends will help IHS continue to develop the most comprehensive suite of design and supply chain products and services available anywhere.'
