Ipsos Launches 'Largest Call Centre in Africa'
Ipsos has unveiled what it describes as the 'largest research-based call centre in Africa'. The firm's decision to invest in building up the English-speaking call centre in Randburg, South Africa was taken in late 2008.
Investments have included new infrastructure, technology and communications, while the firm has also focused on achieving ISO accreditations ISO 9001: 2008, 20252 (market and social research), and 27001 (information security management systems).
Next year, the company says it has plans to increase volumes through the new centre by as much as 300%.
Regional Director, Western Europe and South Africa Operations, Rowland Lloyd comments: 'Our focus for this call centre operation has been on seamless integration with our participating English-speaking operations. Our metrics have shown South Africa to be on a par with - if not better than - our call centre operations in other markets.'
Ipsos South Africa CEO Ian Jeffrey adds that Ipsos' investment in South Africa will enable the firm to offer 'best-in-class global call centre standards with state-of-the-art technology'.
